Clean car. Almost an entirely automated process so not much interaction with human (which I'm not a fan of). We drove one-way from New Orleans to Orlando and I didn't realize until we were already on the road that the car was 400 miles overdue for an oil change. Made me a little nervous but still pressed on. Would be nice if they stayed on top of their maintenance.
Never had a bad experience out of the few times renting out of the New Orleans airport location. My company usually orders me a midsize. But they rarely actually carry a midsize so they put nicer cars in the midsize idle. Easy pick up, drop off experience.
3 rentals in a row over the last 6 weeks at National in New Orleans and every time there are no cars available and 10-30 minute wait for a car. Only place I have ever experienced this with National. Very disappointing.
don't give many 1 star reviews, but I really have to this time because of an extremely rude employee named Archie. As an Executive Emerald member, I'm allowed to grab any car from the Emerald aisle. Somehow, though, I got charged extra for the mid-size SUV I picked up even though it was in the Emerald isle. Anyways, I noticed this as soon as I got the receipt when dropping off the car so notified the desk attendant, Archie.
I have never been treated so poorly by a professional in my entire life. The woman with the short blonde hair should be fired. I will never rent with National again.
Archie was rude the entire time saying that's what the receipt says so he couldn't change it. I explained to him how as an executive member I shouldn't have been charged the extra amount but he didn't care at all, saying I should leave and call the 1-800 number if I had any problems. I pleaded with him since I don't like hassling with stuff like this at an airport, but he told me he wasn't going to help. So I called the 1-800 number, who then told me I should just ask the desk attendant to fix it for me. I told them I had already tried that and they were surprised to hear that Archie wouldn't help me. Ultimately the rep on the phone was able to fix the price for me after a few minutes, but it was ridiculous that the desk attendant Archie wasn't willing to help at all. Absolutely unprofessional and uncalled for.
